Golf in Perth and St Andrews in the 19th Century

It had never occurred to me that the book would have sparked an interest among writers about early golf in Scotland. But, of course, the book cover shows three Grant brothers holding golf clubs in the studio of Thomas Rodger in St Andrews in, probably, 1861.

That has led to an invitation to give a presentation about those brothers at a meeting of those golf writers within the club rooms of The Royal Perth Golfing Society. What a fascinating afternoon that was!

And now it looks likely that I will be giving a similar talk at the R&A World Golf Museum in 2024.

Watch this space for further information. Meanwhile, here is the Rodger photograph before my book designer, Jim Hutchison, worked his magic to create the front cover.
